Once upon a time, there was a small village where women's life had become worse. There was no well in the village, so the village women had to walk to the neighboring village to get water.

It was difficult for them to carry pitchers daily for water. This was the major problem of which the panchyat was to find a solution. At last, it was decided that the well will be dug outside the house of sarpanch of the village- Sarpanch Shankarji.

Few days passed, sarpanch employed five men from the neighboring village to get the well dug. They started selecting the appropriate place. After they selected the place, they started digging.

In their first attempt a soothsayer arrived and bellowed, "Har Har Mahadev." Everyone was dazed to see him their. Shankarji moved forward and touched the feet of the soothsayer.

He blessed him and immediately started, "Oh my dear children, please do not hollow out this place. This place is not upright for the digging up of a well!" Every one was stunned on hearing this. Every one became pokerfaced as why was the soothsayer saying this.

Manshu one of the villagers asked the soothsayer, "I respect you, but may I know the reason behind your say." The soothsayer kept quiet for sometime and then answered, "My dear child, if this place is dug then it will create a problem for you as well this village."
