The suspected al Qaeda terrorist Abdur Rahman, who was arrested from Cuttack in Odisha last week, was asked to recruit youths to work for terror organisations.
According to Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate police chief Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Abdur Rahman met another suspected al Qaeda terrorist Mohammed Asif in Bangalore.
Asif was arrested from Delhi.
He had received a message from a Pakistani al Qaeda co-ordinator in which he had been asked to discuss about recruitment with Rahman.
A five-member police team is leaving Bhubaneswar on Monday to coordinate with the special cell of Delhi Police. The team will collect information about Rahman’s foreign links and financial transactions. Rahman is currently in 12-day custody of Delhi Police.
