Security forces have arrested a suspected overground worker of the Lashker-e-Taiba from Poonch and detained a special police officer (SPO) in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources on Friday said that Khadim Hussain was arrested late Thursday night from Luthung village in Poonch and was said to be an overground worker for the LeT outfit.

He was handed over to Surankote police for interrogation.

In another incident, police and troops held an SPO, Irshad Ahmed, from his residence late Thursday evening in Chilli village in Doda.

Ahmed had stated that he was kidnapped by terrorists a day earlier and let off after they took his AK-47 rifle, the sources said.

The SPO was taken into custody for questioning over the alleged kidnapping, they added.
