A suspected woman Naxal, who was carrying a country-made gun, was apprehended by the CRPF in Bokaro during patrolling and handed over to the local police.
Official sources said the 26 Battalion of the CRPF apprehended 25-year-old Urmilla from Aman village last night during patrolling carried out by the Central paramilitary force.
A country-made gun, 50 gms of gun powder and 700 sticks of aluminium were recovered from her possession.
Security officials say that women constitute about 35 per cent of the about 3,000-strong Naxal force operating in Jharkhand.
With frequent encounters leaving a large number of Naxalites injured, many women also work in the Naxal para-medical units and are especially trained to give first aid to the injured, the officials said.
