The five domestic cricketers suspended by the cricket Board in the wake of a TV sting are likely to be questioned by the CBI and income-tax sleuths apart from the BCCI's anti-corruption unit, according to sources.

The players - Shalabh Srivastava, Mohnish Mishra, TP Sudhindra, Amit Yadav and Abhinav Bali - were caught on camera talking to undercover reporters about payments in the IPL, made spot-fixing allegations and also suggested players were being paid in black money and way above their entitlement.

According to sources, these cricketers would now have to present their cases before the IT department and CBI officials as well because there were allegations that franchises were paying in black. The hearings are likely to take place between May 24 and 29.

"As far as Mohnish is concerned, he has to attend hearings of BCCI's ACU (anti-corruption unit), Income Tax and CBI. They could be between May 24 and 29. Mohnish allegedly claimed he accepted money in black on camera and that's why the IT department has taken cognizance of the issue," sources said.

A top BCCI official said he was not aware of any such development. The five uncapped cricketers were suspended from all forms of cricket following an urgent IPL governing council meeting last Tuesday.

Ravi Sawani, who heads the BCCI's anti-corruption unit, is heading the enquiry committee. Sawani is expected to submit his report in a fortnight. Sawani has questioned Shalabh Shrivastava but some of the others are waiting to be called before him. One of the players, when contacted, declined to comment, saying he would present his case only before the committees concerned.

Senior IT and CBI officials HT contacted refused to confirm or deny anything on this issue or come on record with any statement.
