Close on the heels of the serial bomb blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, police arrested a "suspicious-looking" Bangladeshi from the railway station in Allahabad.
The Bangladeshi was arrested late last night near the Allahabad railway junction where he was roaming in a "suspicious manner", police said adding that he was taken to Shahganj police station for interrogation.
Preliminary investigation by senior officials, including SP(City) AK Vijeta, revealed that Naseem was a resident of Dhaka and he had sneaked into the country a few weeks ago without a visa and other valid documents.
On the basis of the interrogation, police have conducted raids in various parts of the old city area and also sought call details of various PCOs situated in the vicinity of the railway station and bus terminus.
Meanwhile, SP Vijeta has asked citizens to promptly inform the police if any suspicious object is found lying abandoned in any part of the city.
