US officials blew up a suspicious package bound for a cruise ship in Miami after it tested positive for C-4 plastic explosives.
The package was tested six times, and each time it tested positive for C-4 plastic explosives. After an X-ray, it was decided to blow it up, reports said.
Test would not be conducted to establish if it indeed contained the explosives and if so, the quantity, they said. The plastic explosives can be moulded in different forms and shapes and have been used by terrorists.
The package, the reports said, was among the provisions being loaded yesterday.
The incident came a day after three Middle Eastern men were detained in what has been called by law enforcement authorities as "miscommunication." But nothing suspicious was found in the cargo of the truck they were driving into the port.
