POLICE HAS arrested a ‘tantrik’ who allegedly inveigled a woman to accompany him to Ratlam where he locked her in a hotel room and raped her.

According to SI Chunawat of Annapurna police station, the woman, residing in the Sudama Nagar area, was suffering from severe pains in her body for the past several years. Two years ago she along with her mother went to Dharaji to take bath in the Narmada during Bhootni Amavasya.

There they came to know about Radheyshyam Khati (30), resident of village Kalaria village, who was said to possess powers of healing people of their pains. They approached him and he told them that she would be cured if she came to him every ‘Amavasya’. For the next one and half years, she went to Khati regularly for treatment and was cured of her ailment.

Early in July this year, Khati visited her family and on July 9 he took her to Ratlam on the pretext of visiting Mataji temple there. However, when they did not return the next day, the family members began searching her and found her at a lodge in Ratlam. The accused managed to flee from the spot.
