All this while, his family — including his wife, daughters, brother and sister — waited outside. They brought him food and other basics as well as something to read, police sources said.
At 12.30am, Tejpal was taken to Goa Medical College and Hospital for a routine check, and from there to the lock-up a little before 3am.
Tejpal will be allowed home food and clothes and to talk with his lawyer once a day. He is unlikely to get much sleep over the next five days. “We wake them up at any time and interrogate them,” said an officer.
