Thirteen students of a girls school were stripped by their teachers on Friday, reportedly to search for money stolen from another student. The incident took place in Jharkhand's Jogta area at Modidih Girls High School. All 13 girls are students of Class VIII.

One of them, Neha, said the three woman teachers were asked to frisk all the girls inside a closed room. “When nothing was found, the teachers asked us not to tell our guardians.”

The following day, angry locals thrashed headmaster Md Sarfuddin and his assistant Rajiv Kumar Singh. Students of both junior and senior classes have resolved to boycott school till the headmaster is removed.

No arrest has been made but on a complaint filed by Neha, cases have been registered against Sarfuddin, Singh, school secretary Surendra Singh and the three teachers. Cases have also been filed against the dozen-odd residents for vandalising the school and assaulting the staff.
