THE CHIEF Minister-Industry Minister duo will soon be off to Southeast Asia to explore opportunities and woo investors to the State as part of the 'Destination Madhya Pradesh' exercise.
The Destination MP team will leave Delhi on December 9 for Singapore, where it would hold a road show on December 10-11.
The next destination would be Kuala Lumpur, where a similar exercise would take place on December 12-13. FICCI - the key player and partner of the State in the ambitious Destination MP project - will provide platform in both countries.
The team comprises CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Commerce & Industry Minister Babulal Gaur, Principal Secretary (Industries) O P Rawat, secretary to CM Iqbal Singh Bains, MPSIDC managing director Praveen Garg, TRIFAC's Rajwardhan Shrivastava and two representatives from FICCI, including its director.
Five members from industry - JP Cement (Sunny Gaur), SP Oswal Group, Rathi Steels (Aniruddha Rathi), Bhaskar Industries (Dr Bharat Agarwal) and Jagran Group will also join the team.
“The aim of the visit is to market the potential of MP and woo investors in every possible sector,” said Praveen Garg. The team would especially focus on core industries, tourism, agro-processing and infrastructure. “Kuala Lumpur is especially known for good infrastructure,” he added.
TRIFAC is playing the lead role in road shows and the investment garnering exercise. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Babulal Gaur said the participation of the CM makes the visit even more important and would prove beneficial in bringing investment.
“Apart from road shows abroad, we’ll visit several places in the country, too, and are quite sure of making it big,” he said. The team will be back home on December 14.
