SEVERAL POLICE teams have been sent to various places in search of dacoits who struck the City, even as the police stepped up security and intensified night patrolling to prevent any further heist.
Investigators feel the gang that struck at the residence of Tarchand Sadarangani at Bairagarh on Thursday night was different from the gang that struck in Arera Colony, Shahpura and Ayodhya Nagar.
The reason is that the gang left evidences and behaved like members of a de-notified tribe. Not only that they themselves took off jewellery from women family members and abused the male members. One of them also left excreta outside the drawing room. Earlier, women were not tied but on this occasion the women members of the family were treated like males and bundled into the bathroom and kitchen.
A team sent to Indore to gather records about similar crimes and gangs involved in them has returned while other police parties have been sent to Guna, Shivpuri and Delhi. SP Anant Kumar Singh held talks with police in Surat, Kota, Ajmer and Bihar.
Meanwhile, over a dozen persons with suspicious antecedents have been rounded up and are being interrogated. Search operations at the settlements of de-notified tribes are also being undertaken. The senior police officials held review meetings today.
