The Sunfeast Open caravan is in town, and what it promises over the next week is not just some classic tennis competition but also events that are both eye-candy and surreal.

Cricket megastar Sachin Tendulkar will be involved in 'fun tennis' involving some of the marquee names in the tournament.

While Sania Mirza, who hopes to recover from her wrist injury, will be part of fun tennis promo along with Mahesh Bhupathi, some other big names are also expected to be involved.

Tournament director Jaideep Mukherjea told IANS: "We are getting Sachin Tendulkar for promotion of the tournament. He will be involved in a game of fun tennis in Kolkata on Tuesday."

If the tournament has attracted the likes of Martina Hingis and Anastasia Myskina in the past, this year's field promises to be no less attractive.

Daniela Hantuchova, Marion Bartoli, Maria Kirilenko and Mirza are ready to step on to the courts of the Netaji Indoor Stadium for the Tier III WTA Tour event, with prize money of $175,000, Sep 17-23.

The fanfare begins on Sunday with a buggy ride with all the players along the banks of the Ganga, followed by a fashion show which will see the likes of Huntuchova, Bartolli, Kirilenko, Yaroslava Shevedova and Anastasia Rodionova walking the ramp with some of the top models of the country showcasing the Miss Players collections.

An outdoor event on Monday would showcase a game between Bhupathi and Mirza promoting the racquet sport.

Sep 19 morning, Hantuchova and Kirilenko will be invited to the Avenue of Stars followed by a pasta party in the afternoon where one of the players will act as the chef.

However, the Sunfeast Open reserves the best for the last with "Winner to wear a sari" event on Sep 24.
