Tension in Rohtak village after two Dalits shot dead

Tension gripped Madina village of this district after three motorcycle-borne youth shot dead two members of the Dalit community on Saturday evening. The deceased were identified as Sudhir,10, and Vikram,22.

Tension gripped Madina village of this district after three motorcycle-borne youth shot dead two members of the Dalit community on Saturday evening.


The deceased were identified as Sudhir,10, and Vikram,22.

According to police sources, Sudhir, Vikram and another member of the community, Sandeep, 23, were returning from a field to their dwellings when the assailants opened fire on them.

The 10-year-old boy died on the spot, while Vikram and Sandeep were rushed to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Rohtak. Vikram was declared brought dead.

Meham DSP Prithvi Singh rushed to the spot with heavy police force.

Police said the condition of Sandeep was critical and further action would be taken after recording his statement.

Sources said the accused belonged to the same village and had been harboring an old enmity with the victims.

Heavy police was deployed in and around the village to restore normalcy.

Madina is the native village of Meham Congress MLA Anand Singh Dangi.
