Curfew remained clamped for the second day on Sunday in Poonch and army conducted flag marches as tension prevailed in the border town in the wake of communal violence that broke out on Saturday.
"Curfew remains in Poonch town today in the wake of communal violence that broke out yesterday. Army today conducted flag marches in the town," police said.
"The situation is tense, but under control," they said.
However, curfew has been lifted in Jammu, Samba and Udhampur districts as there was improvement in the situation, while it was relaxed for six hours in Kishtwar district.
"No untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the district in the past 24 hours. The situation is totally peaceful," police said, adding that the vehicular traffic on Jammu-Srinagar national highway was normal.
"There were nor reports of any untoward incident from anywhere along the highway from Lakhanpur (Kathua district) to Banihal (Ramban district)," they said.
No curfew relaxation has been given in Hiranagar, while curfew was relaxed in Kishtwar for 6 hours from 0700 hours.
