Terrorists gun down two policemen in Srinagar

Two policemen were shot dead by terrorists in Srinagar while security forces gunned down a terrorist in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.

Constable Ghulam Rasool was shot dead at point-blank range by terrorists at Sabzi Mandi Soura in Srinagar at around 1.30 pm, they said.

Earlier on Wednesday, unidentified terrorists shot at Constable Karamjit Singh at Hazratbal chowk in Srinagar.

Singh was critically injured in the attack and was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead, officials said.

No terrorist outfit has claimed responsibility for the twin attacks so far.

Police and security forces have launched a manhunt in the area, officials said.

In a separate incident in Pulwama district, an unidentified terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Braripora village in Shopian area in the wee hours on Wednesday, they said.
