Now what’s with this Abhinav Bindra chap spinning around in an F-16?
Oh, are you talking about the aero show in Bangalore, where our Olympic daredevil rode pillion on a jet?
Hrmph! With all that TV coverage, you’d think he shot down a few Pakistani planes with his golden rifle from up there.
Oh don’t be such a cynic! Don’t you know that he follows greats like Ratan Tata and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who have ridden these jets? And he seemed pretty thrilled, calling it his biggest high after the Olympics.
Well, judging from his pallor, I could’ve sworn he was going to throw up his lassi and paranthas. So much for death-defying tactics.
Oh do stop! I think it’s pretty brave, riding at 20,000 feet in an F-16 IN Super Viper, a fourth-generation fighter aircraft.
Oh, please, don’t take me for a ride. I’d call it a real feat if he’d dared to ride one of those rickety Russian MiGs we have lying about.
I think he did pretty well to hang on, while the pilot did those rolls and turns. You know, he even trained on a flight simulator, and handled the controls for a while.
Given his somnambular comments, I bet he fell asleep after take-off till flashbulbs jolted him awake.
Do say: Roll over Tom Cruise, here’s our Top Gun.
Don’t say: Mummy, I think I’m gonna be sick!
