Friday Fever is back, ladies and gentlemen! It’s the best news I’ve received of late. It’s great for all the cinema-goers who have been starved of their weekly dose of entertainment and it’s also great for us as an industry.
This means that my next film Kaminey, is going to release really soon (August 14), while What’s Your Rashee? is out in September. I’m still away from home, in Singapore, heading to the IIFA Awards in Macau over the weekend. But if I were at home, I would head straight to the theatre and watch the new films back to back! Maybe next week…
As with all my films, I am hugely excited about Kaminey. It’s another attempt on my part to essay a different character, and unlike a film like Dostana, which had some elements of my personality, this character is far removed from who I am.
An interesting fact I’ve realised about all my characters is that these women have a certain individuality, a certain strength and determination to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. I’d like to believe that those characteristics are intrinsic to who I am as a person and, therefore, there is a little part of me in every role!
Before I end, I just want to say that I love reading all the mails that come in. It’s great to get feedback and also get different perspectives from all of you.
A few special shout outs this week: Aditi Khanna and Noorpreet Dhillon, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Sushant Rao, the only ‘being’ you need to worship is God and not mere mortals like myself!
Thanks for your kind words, though. Ramita Singh, thanks for writing in. I’m privileged to the first celebrity (your words) that you have written to.
Look forward to more mails from you. Shivangi Puri, I am so glad that you’ve taken control of your life and are seeing the positives of life and who you are.
You go girl! Much love.
