Think IIT, think studies. But that was the perception long ago. With changing times, IIT is no longer the place where students only burn the midnight oil. Believe it or not, but IIT is now famous for a lot more than just its brilliant students — its rocking nightlife.
Late night dhabbas, economical food, wide roads and a lush green environment is what the 320 acre campus encompasses. Before you start packing up your picnic bags, it is important to note that it not an official chilling out corner for families. But being a Delhiite, you cannot afford to miss Delhi's delight.
Visiting the world famous IIT at least once is a must. Situated at Hauz Khas in South Delhi, the place is a hot spot for the students of Delhi University's South Campus and JNU.
With many topographical features, its landscape and numerous buildings, the IIT campus presents a spectacle of harmony and natural beauty. But if you ask the IITians, their favourite hangout zone within the campus, it will be the Institute's terrace, better known as 'Insti-Roof,' that gives a great view of the entire campus.
The other hang-out zones include the 24-hour open cafeteria and KLS, a late night dhabba offering great food at cheap prices. How can we forget to mention 'Wind-T' or the wind tunnel classically designed in a way that one can experience cool breeze even when the temperature touches 42 degrees! It's not called a 'chillout zone' for no reason.
For those of you looking for a place to learn tennis, your hunt is over. The place facilitates tennis facility open for outsiders too. If your joyride around IIT is over, step outside the campus where the famous SDA market is situated.
The place is buzzing with students from IIT, DU or JNU! Besides great food, it's serves as a great place to meet people too.
