The morning sun these days in north India is a welcome spectacle as it weeds out the chill and spreads warmth. While sitting in my room, I feel the sunlight creeping in and brightening everything from the bedside table to the study table.
Every article sparkles as if enjoying the warmth. The reflection from a stainless steel article illuminates the entire room as if the sun’s rays are trying to reach every nook and corner. At times, I feel great to own a place such as this, where the architect had indeed planned the doors and windows so well.
The windows of the room, the adjoining drawing room and the other enclosures in my small home were planned in a manner so as to draw in the winter sun as much as possible, thus warming and illuminating as much space as possible.
The same way, there is a need to develop our minds as well in a manner so as to allow as much positive energy to enter our minds and illuminate our souls and warm our inner selves. Once this happens, we automatically radiate this imbibed energy in every nook and corner and spread positivity everywhere. The need is to shape our mind in a manner so as to allow as many windows as possible at places wherefrom positive energy in the form of knowledge, good advice, education, bhajans, kirtan etc can enter our minds.
It is necessary that we develop our mind into ‘mind-Vastu perfect’. Even as a sleek crevice allows a thin beam of the sun to enter and illuminate a dark space, similarly a small change in our attitude can allow positivity to enter our mind.
The enlightenment so achieved can help us redeem ourselves from the disastrous consequences of ignorance. An aware and illuminated mind can radiate the imbibed energy in every possible direction and weed out the chill from all walks of life and get us closer to the Lord.
