An interview with Subhash Deswal, Superintending engineer DHBVN, Gurgaon.

Much hue and cry has been raised over long power cuts in the city. How long will this situation last?

We know people are upset, but we assure them that the power situation will improve shortly. The issue is a major concern for one and all. The government has taken the matter seriously and is doing the needful.

Will the power plants that had stopped supply resume operations shortly?

Two plants at Khedar (Hisar) and Yamunanagar have already started functioning since Wednesday night. Since, they had been shut, the power supply had been badly affected.

Do you mean to say that erratic power cuts will see an improvement and residents can expect shorter outages?

Yes. Power cuts will definitely be checked as we will have enough power for regular supply. Even on Thursday, the city had shorter outages.
