Today, we tell you what the city thinks are the best schools in the west. This perception-based survey encapsulates the sample’s collective impression about schools. Admittedly, some excellent schools might not even figure on the list.
Yet we realise that parents need to start somewhere. Moreover, we hope the profiles and trend stories that follow will add details and nuance to the rankings. Together, we hope the series draws a broad outline of the Mumbai schooling landscape, one that parents investigation.
Such a survey comes at a time of profound transformations in schooling and parenting in the city. First, international boards have made an entry in a big way, spurring change across the system. Second, many among today’s generation of highly conscious parents want to be closely involved with their child’s lives at school.
This series is based on an understanding of these key shifts.
