RoomIf you are a Bollywood buff or fancy sweating it out in a soccer field, here’s a way to live your interest 24/7, literally. Give your room a makeover with some of the hottest themes this season, recommended by interior designers.

Fairytale setting
Get a large painting of your favourite character from fairytales — Cinderella, Snow White or Red Riding Hood — complete with daffodils and hilltops, and put it on the wall behind the bed. Create a crown on top of the bed and let pink organza drapes fall on the bed linen. Interior designer Punam Kalra says, “Keep the colour palette of the room pink and silver. You can have images from fairytale books on the pillows and the cushions too. Also, have small images on the drawer knobs, pencil holders and the almirah.”

Bollywood bling
Have pictures of movie stars on bed linen, cushions, and even sofa upholstery. Keep the colour palette bright, especially purples and reds. Décor stylist Swati Pandya Sood says, “You can have digital prints in the room, from the black and white era to current ones. Fuse it with a Cineplex look, using picture reels on the wall. One can keep cushions printed with stills from movies or pictures of actors.”

Soccer mania
Keep a carpet in the shape of a football on the floor. On the wall behind the bed, create a collage of soccer players, team emblems and trophies. To avoid going over-the-top, Kalra suggests keeping the room linen subtle.

Beach bum
Paint the walls and the ceiling in your favourite shade of blue. Keep a chocolate-brown round bed with a soothing white sheet. Create a small lily or lotus pond. Sood says, “The furniture should be in cane. Keep sand in a corner with mashaals. Keep a lot of white flowers and seashells. White drapes for the window and pictures of beaches and holiday snaps on the wall will complete the look.”
