NEW YEAR celebrations ended on a sad note for a property broker when on his return on Wednesday found that thieves had decamped with goods from his house in Anjani Nagar.

The victim Prakash Khandelwal had gone to Nathadwar during the weekend with his family. He returned this morning to find all the household goods strewn about in the house, and valuables missing.

The theft occurred despite the presence of a guard. What is more, on Tuesday one of the neighbours had told the guard that she had seen someone inside the house, but the guard did not took it seriously. The thieves first tried to break open the terrace door but when it proved difficult they entered by breaking open the ventilation and took away cash and jewellery
from the house.

The exact amount lost could not be ascertained as Prakash’s son Sanjay is out of station and the thieves had also broken into his room and forced open the almirah and stolen valuables.

Two thieves held
Banganga police have arrested two thieves who had stolen scrap worth thousands of rupees from Shakti Engineering Factory, Sanver Road. Those arrested are Ravi son of Ayodhyaprasad Thakur (19) resident of Prince Nagar and Sanjay (22) son of Narayan Gurjar resident of Bhagat Singh Nagar.
