To talk is an essential factor for human beings to lead a life of fulfilment. Talking is the easiest and strongest way of communication. However, sometimes, this same act of talking creates a lot of trouble in our lives.

A story from the Mahabharata is the best example to realise in what way a slip of the tongue can create a crisis.

A heart-breaking word that escaped the tongue of a lady sparked the destruction of the whole dynasty.

These words sowed a seed of hatred and revenge in the mind of Duryodhan. This fire of revenge not only claimed the entire Kaurava dynasty, but also led to Draupadi losing her father, brother and children. That is how terrible the outcome of just a slip of tongue was.

The Almighty always said “Sweet children, flowers and jewels of knowledge should always come out of your mouth and not stones and thorns that will give others sorrow”.

Our way of talking should always give others bliss and make them feel blessed and elevated.

A person who thinks and then speaks will always be considered a sensible person. There are many people in this world who have soured their relationships with almost everyone only because of a silly ‘slip of the tongue’. Thus, we must always remember that using the proper words, at a proper time, in a proper place will make our talk valuable and successful. So always think before you talk and save yourself from misery.
