A delegation of Third Front leaders on Friday met President APJ Abdul Kalam in a bid to persuade him to contest the presidential polls.

They drove straight to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's residence for a meeting with NDA leaders.
The UNPA leaders who met the President included Chandrababu Naidu, Jayalalitha, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Om Prakash Chautala.
