HUNDREDS OF armed people attacked the Baraur police station in Kanpur Dehat and freed a person accused in a murder case on Monday. The mob set him free in an effort to kill him themselves. Later, senior cops arrested them a few kilometers from the police station.

HUNDREDS OF armed people attacked the Baraur police station in Kanpur Dehat and freed a person accused in a murder case on Monday. The mob set him free in an effort to kill him themselves. Later, senior cops arrested them a few kilometers from the police station.

According to information, on May 5, one Vineet Sachan was murdered by Ajay Sachan. Both were residents of Meerpur village. Ajay was arrested and reportedly admitted to his crime.

Sources said since the arrest of Ajay Sachan, brother of the deceased, Munnu Sachan, used to cast aspersions on Bharat Pandey, Station House Officer (SHO)  of Baraur police station of giving five-star treatment to the main accused Ajay in the police custody.

On Monday, hundreds of people riding a tractor-trolley led by Munnu Sachan attacked the police station and fled with Ajay.  But the SHO  soon informed Superintendent of Police, Kanpur Dehat Ramkumar, who along with a heavy contingent of police surrounded the escaping people.

After rescuing Ajay, police arrested Raman Sachan, Devendra Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Totaram and Ravi Shankar.

However, Munnu Sachan managed to escape .
