THE ANNUAL Alami Tablighi Ijtima will start at Eintkhedi near the State capital from Saturday. Jama’ats (groups) have been reaching the venue for the three-day congregation and by Friday afternoon, thousands of participants had arrived.
The special Friday prayer was held today. Jama’ats from various parts of the country and abroad that had reached Bhopal several days ago and were staying at local mosques have reached the venue in buses, vans and other vehicles.
The Ijtima will start with morning prayers on Saturday. The Tablighi Ijtima at Bhopal is considered amongst the biggest of Islamic congregations in the world. The first Ijtima was held at Masjid Shakoor Khan but after a couple of years, it was shifted to Tajul Masajid where it was held for over 50 years. However, as participants increased the venue had to be shifted to Eintkhedi outside the State Capital.
Religious discourses are held during the conclave and the participants are asked to follow the religious tenets in their spirit apart from the message for universal brotherhood.
On the final day, the ‘duaa’ is held and lakhs of participants pray for world peace. District administration has made all preparations to ensure that devotees who reach the Ghasipura village near Eintkhedi get the access to water supply, electricity and other basic facilities.
Police have set up watchtowers and 900 policemen are present on the spot. Apart from police, the personnel of Rapid Action Force (RAF) Traffic has been streamlined. Special buses will be plying between the Capital and Eintkhedi to take citizens to the venue. Also, the railway has established a temporary booking counter for the benefit of participants.
