With the arrest of three persons, police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the gunning down of a man, believed to be a close associate of slain gangster Suleiman.
Saukat Khan, Wahid Ali and Rakesh Nayak, all in their early twenties, belonging to Kendrapara township areas have been arrested in the case, district Superintendent of Police Narsundar Mishra told reporters in Kendrapara.
The assailant-trio had allegedly abducted Seikh Shamim Saturday evening. Later his body was found thrown in the roadside river waters near Idgah ground.
The deceased allegedly had close ties with gangster Suleiman, who was shot dead by his aides on July 30.
