Three persons have been booked on charges of kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl on July 3.On the complaint of the victim's father, police have booked Jogan Singh and his two accomplices under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 363 (kidnapping), 366-A (procuration of a minor girl) and 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Sources said the victim was medically examined on the night of July 5 at Cantt civil hospital and doctors, in the report given on Saturday, did not rule out the possibility of rape. Following this, section 376 (rape) of the IPC was also added to the FIR.

The complainant alleged that his daughter, a Class-10 student, was on her way to school on a bicycle when three men intercepted her and forced her into a jeep on the Kalehri road around 7.30am on July 3.

He said when she did not return home in the evening, they went to the school and came to know that she had not even reached school.

He said that late in the evening on July 3, some passersby had spotted his daughter in a vehicle parked on the Boh road with three youths and rescued her, while the youths escaped. The complainant alleged that the girl was threatened of dire consequences as a result of which she did not tell her parents about the incident on that day, but on July 5 discussed it with her mother.

Suspecting rape, her father approached the police and the victim was taken to a hospital for medical examination.Officials said that the investigations were on and the accused persons would be nabbed soon.
