Those killed have been identified as Padam Verma, who was driving the car, his wife Rani, and sister Geeta. Padam's sons Rajat and Shobit and daughter Aishwarya -- were injured in the accident. "It seems that both the vehicles were travelling at a high speed. The accident happened when the truck driver was overtaking the car. The impact of the collision was so strong that the car overturned many times," said Samarjeet Singh, station officer, Dankaur police station.

The police had to use a gas cutter to retrieve the victims from the mangled car.
