Three from City awarded at Lata music contest

THREE BUDDING artistes have made the City proud by receiving honours and awards at the Lata Mangeshkar State-Level Music Competition organised at Ravindra Natya Grah, Indore. Anshu Srivastava, Shristi Balwapuri, Aditya Singh Gaur and Akriti Mehra from Bhopal were among the four participants who were selected to represent the City at the coveted competition, which provides a big platform for many upcoming artists in the field of classical music.

THREE BUDDING artistes have made the City proud by receiving honours and awards at the Lata Mangeshkar State-Level Music Competition organised at Ravindra Natya Grah, Indore. Anshu Srivastava, Shristi Balwapuri, Aditya Singh Gaur and Akriti Mehra from Bhopal were among the four participants who were selected to represent the City at the coveted competition, which provides a big platform for many upcoming artists in the field of classical music.  

Anshu, Shristi and Aditya bagged the awards in the junior and the senior categories. Shristi was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 along with a certificate for securing second position in the junior category (8-15 age group) while Anshu and Aditya bagged the honours in the senior category (16-25 age group) and were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively for their remarkable performance.

Anshu stood first in the senior group and Aditya achieved the third position .This contest is held every year to promote new talents in the field of music and witnesses a tough competition with hundreds of applicants trying out their luck for the popular award. All the awardees have trained themselves under the guidance of noted ghazal singer and composer Ustad Sarwat Hussain.
