Following the violence, the police opened fire to disperse the mob, injuring three perons, one of them seriously, here in Karontha village of Rohtak. Earlier police had also resorted to lathicharge, after Arya Samajis were advancing towards controversial Satlok Ashram headed by Sant Rampal at Karontha village. Several Arya Samajis sustained injuries in this.
Arya Samajis' strength swelled to thousands this morning from just one hundred till Saturday evening, when stopped by police from going near the Ashram went on rampage and torched two roadways buses besides smashing window panes of several other police vans.

Police resorted to lathicharge to maintain law and order and used fire tear gas shells to disperse the mob comprising mainly of youths in their (early twenties).

On the other side, panic triggered among Sant Rampal supporters (around 10,000 including women and children), who caged themselves inside the Ashram, gathered on the terrace of ashram to retaliate, if attacked from outside.

Later, situation turned more volatile, after Arya Samajis got the backing of local Karontha residents, who challenged the police force deployed in full strength.

Both police and Arya Samajis accompanied by village youths pelted stones at each other.

The traffic on Jhajjar-Rohtak road was blocked by protesters at Karontha village and traffic was diverted by police at Rohtak town in view of law and order situation.
