Three persons were runover by a train at Kalamassery near Kochi, police said on Tuesday.
According to railway sources, the trio, believed to be hailing from Orissa, was walking on the railway track when they saw the Pune Express coming late on Monday night.
They immediately jumped to another track and were hit by the Thiruvanathapuram-bound Amrita express coming from Palakaad, they said, adding the deceased have not yet been identified, police said.
Police have found a pocketbook with the name Nibas Kumar Nayak, Khurda district, Orissa, written on it from one of the deceased.
The three are likely to be construction workers, police said.
