Three hardcore ULFA militants were today arrested by Assam police in Kamrup district and five kg of RDX recovered from them.

The three ULFA ultras, who were travelling from the Bhutan border to Rangiya, 49 kms from Guwahati, were apprehended at Baihata Chariali.

Police said the explosives were hidden in a bag inside the bus in which the militants were travelling.

The RDX was meant for subversive activities in Rangiya and Guwahati, they said.

The three ultras were being interrogated by the police.

The district administration has tightened security along the Indo-Bhutan border in view of the movement of ultras with explosives.
