Three vehicle lifters arrested

BANGANGA POLICE have arrested three members of a seven member vehicle lifters and seized two cars and seven motorcycles from their possession. Of the three youth arrested one had stolen Maruti van of his cousin.

Police said that sometime back a Maruti van owned by Durgesh resident of Yadav Nagar was stolen and the owner told police that he suspected his cousin Dharmendra resident of New Gauri Nagar was responsible for the theft. The suspicion was also based on the fact that Dharmendra had earlier been arrested in Sanver for vehicle theft.

When police questioned him, Dharmendra confessed that he was part of a gang of vehicle lifters and had been stealing them for a long time. On the basis of information provided by him police arrested Rashid son of Abdul Karim resident of Sikandrabad and Banti resident of Scheme No 51. However, the other gang members Kailash Silawat, Bharat Silawat, Prem Langra, and Vikram are absconding. All of them live in Kasrawad and a police team has been sent there.

Police said that they had seized the Maruti van parked outside Treasure Island on MG Road in the no-parking zone, while another motorcycle was seized after it was involved in an accident.  All the youths are unemployed. After stealing the vehicles they used to drive it for a few days and later sold them cheaply.
