Government not only wiped off the revenue deficit of the state but also increased its revenue by 23 percent.The state registered revenue saving of Rs 1123.17 crore, which is possible after a gap of 20 years.

Succumbing to the pressure from the MNCs, all the State Governments were forced to implement VAT system, but my government did not give in and set a record of tax realisation of through trade tax.

State’s policy of self-reliance has attracted appreciation from all quarters.

A new industrial atmosphere created all over the state with an objective to make Uttar Pradesh an Uttam Pradesh. National level companies were competing with MNCs to invest in industrial sector in UP. Private sector has promised to invest Rs 30,000 in power sector in UP.

The State Government would be able to provide power to one and all in next two years. An ambitious scheme of providing power to all the villages within a year has been launched.

Private sector investors have invested Rs 5000 crore in sugarcane industry in UP.

Areas, which were so far dominated by rifles and AK-47s are now home to lions, tigers, stags and deer and tourists are attracted towards these areas.

Panchayat polls conducted in a free and fair manner.

An ambitious scheme of providing unemployment allowance of Rs 500 per month launched.

The State Government has taken some important steps to bring women at par with men. Arrangement of pension has been made for all the destitute widows.

The education for girls up to graduation level is free.

Government committed for social and educational betterment of minority groups.

A Commission constituted for ensuring participation of minorities in government services and devising special ways and means for increasing their level of education.

A provision of Rs 5075 crore allocated for construction of roads and bridges. The State Govt implements recommendations of Tikku committee.

Our popular chief minister has used his discretionary fund judiciously.
