Trade talk is that the heat is still on for Ram Gopal Varma after the debacle of Aag. Although RGV has acknowledged the error of remaking the cult classic Sholay and spoken about reviving his Time Machine project with Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan, the buzz suggests otherwise.

It appears that Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan have declined to be a part of the sci-fi project Time Machine. RGV had once planned to make this project with Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Wait and watch
According to a source, "Currently, the Bachchans are adopting a wait-and-watch stance. They would rather gauge the response to Sarkar Raj. Depending on how it fares commercially, they will decide whether to do commit themselves to another project with Ramu."

It is believed that the Bachchans are keen that Sarkar Raj should be the first release of Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai after their wedding - ahead of the release of the bahu'sJodhaaAkbar with Hrithik Roshan, which is scheduled for January 25 next year.

<b1>Ever since he wrapped up the shooting of SarkarRaj in October, RGV has been immersed in the film's post-production so that it makes it to the cinemas before Ashutosh Gowariker's historical.

So the Bachchans' wish may not come true.

"RGV will release SarkarRaj only in February.. since he has to start the promotions latest by the first week of December.. and he's not yet ready to run the promos on air," revealed the source.

Their take
Although Bachchan Sr didn't revert to our text message, Abhishek responded saying, "Not true. He hasn't asked me for that film."

On his part, RGV replied, "There was never a time line for Time Machine.. It is just an idea and the script is far from over." Apart from the post-production of SarkarRaj, RGV has also started work on his next Contact, with a cast of newcomers.
