Susmita SenIts glamorous avatar would shock the Romans. Toga, the single piece of cloth worn in ancient Rome, is now being worn by style divas such as Gauri Khan and Sushmita Sen. While Khan wore it to a recent awards function, Sen flaunted a Toga-inspired jump suit at a fashion show in Delhi. Recently, a popular nightclub in the Capital even held a Toga-themed party.

Long, clingy cloth, draped across one shoulder, designers say is a great style to hide flab. “It’s great to hide belly flab. Toga dresses are currently available at high-end stores such as Lanvin, Mango, Ogaan and Ensemble for Rs 3,500 to Rs 1,40,000. However, expect these dresses to hit the high street soon.
