Actor Tom Cruise has reached out to Ben Stiller to express his interest in co-starring with the comedian in an updated version of The Hardy Boys at Twentieth Century Fox.

And sources say, Ben Stiller has finally received the okay from the film corporation to make the remake.

The comedy, tentatively titled The Hardy Men, would be directed by Shawn Levy, the man who directed Ben Stiller's Christmas hit A Night At the Museum.

The Hardy Boys sequel would presumably take the popular Hardy Boys detective novels, that date back to 1927, and spin them into a 'Hardy Boys finally grow up' kind of comedy, with a lot of action. It will show the characters getting back to the mystery solving ways.

The upcoming project will begin filming in October of this year, reports TMZ.com.
