From mobiles service providers to fmcg segments we got a taste of awesome overflow of creative juices in 2012. We bring to you the top 10 ads of the year gone by.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Shots:
Anurag Kashyap’s quirky persona was utilized successfully in the Cadbury Dairy Milk Shots ad as well where he is seen looking for actors and has a lot of “mann mein laddoo phooto-ing” on finding them right in front of him. The expressions of all the characters are spot on.

ICICI Reward Points: ICICI’s unexpected rewards ad managed to tug at the hearts of most viewers. The song used is in Kashmiri, yet it complements the visuals effortlessly and sends across the advertiser’s message effectively.

Airtel: Airtel’s ads topped the popularity charts with its theme of friendship. “Hare ek friend zaroori hota hai” and “Jo tera hai who mera” struck a chord with the youth who instantly took to the catchy jingle rhymes.

Nestle Kitkat: The Nestle Kitkat ad with birds in love proved to be a resounding hit. The Bollywood song and dance routine around trees is appealing and makes for an interesting “Kitkat break”

ThumsUp: ThumsUp evolved as a brand as it showed a bunch of youngsters doing some vertigo-inducing “toofani” stunts in its new campaign. Its “thunder” quotient skyrocketed with it.

Vodafone: One can always count on Vodafone to bring out the most pithy and effective ads. The ad for "My Delights" shows women arguing over their clothes with a masterjee. In the other version of it shows men bickering over their hairdos. The subtext of customized deals for all Vodafone customers is evident. As previously stated, pithy and effective.

Oreo: Oreo popularized a new practice of eating cream biscuits. “Twist, Lick and Dunk” became a method kids swore by and even inspired adults to follow suit.

Fanta: Fanta’s animated ad full of orange bubbles and jumpy people won many hearts. The “uchal uchal jaye” song became a hit with toddlers who could we seen shaking a leg whenever they saw the ad playing.

Micromax: Micromax’s tactful ad tells us how you’ll be labeled as "Uncle" if you still belong to the era of no GPS and no Dual Sim. No wonder many switched to the smartphone to escape the tag. Well played there.

Limca: Limca's "Pyaas badhao" campaign proved to be a welcome change from the water showers that its ads usually consist of. Kareena Kapoor’s fresh avatar in the ad left the viewers mesmerized. We can safely say that “pyaas zaroor badhi”.

The ads are stacked in no particular order. If you feel we missed out some that deserve to share spotlight, leave a comment and we shall include those in the list accrediting it to the contributor.
