Top cocaine dealer arrested in Delhi

The Delhi Police’s special cell on Tuesday arrested a cocaine peddler, Charanpreet Singh, from Mansarovar Garden. Twenty-five grams of cocaine has been recovered from his possession.
Singh’s clients included many affluent people in Delhi, Gurgaon and Mumbai. Charanpreet, police said, has been in the business for a long time and used to supply cocaine to several agents who organised rave parties in farmhouses and hotels in and around Delhi and Mumbai.
The officials of special cell were working on information regarding the activities of Charanpreet Singh. On November 13, specific information was received through a source that Charanpreet would come near Hotel Jagir Place (located in Mansarovar Garden) to deliver a consignment of to one of his associates. "We laid a trap and Charanpreet was apprehended. Twenty-five grams of cocaine was recovered from his possession," said DCP special cell, Alok Kumar.
According to police, Singh had earlier been arrested in 2005 by the Narcotics Branch in a similar case. The accused on interrogation disclosed that he is a commerce graduate from Delhi University and the son of a mechanical engineer.
