Ferocious-dacoit Salim Gujjar, who was gunned down in an encounter in the awe-inspiring jungle of Kathauli in Auraiya district, was a big boozer and womaniser. In fact, girls liked his ferocious looks.
He was wanted in as many as 100 cases of murder and kidnapping in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya, Pradesh and Delhi. He ruled the awe-inspiring ravines of Yamuna and Chambal for many years.
According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Daljeet Singh Chowdhury who led the operation among those killed was his beautiful paramour Geeta Jatav.
Gujjar had in his gang many young women. Most of them were kidnapped and raped and later taught looting and kidnapping. Some of them were sharp-shooters and even brought back women for the gang's entertainment.
Love for girls was Salim Gujjar's Achilles heel. In fact, the title of Saleem was bequeathed on Gujjar due to his constant hankering after women. His harem always had a minimum of seven girls.
It is learnt that Geeta herself used to kidnap young girls for the entertainment of the gang members. She carried an award on her head and was an accused in a number of murder and kidnapping cases.
