Top official reviews security in Jammu region for LS polls

A top police official in Jammu reviewed the security situation in the Jammu region for the coming Lok Sabha polls on Wednesday and directed his personnel to remain alert to deal with any terrorist threat to ensure free and fair elections in the state.

A top police official in Jammu reviewed the security situation in the Jammu region for the coming Lok Sabha polls on Wednesday and directed his personnel to remain alert to deal with any terrorist threat to ensure free and fair elections in the state.

"Officers and jawans should keep their eyes and ears open and remain vigilant against any threat from terrorists and anti-social elements in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections in the state," Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu zone, K Rajendra Kumar said while chairing high-level meeting to review security in the region for the upcoming general elections.

He further directed them to take firm action against anyone trying to disrupt peace and tranquility in the Jammu zone and asked to ensure proper maintenance of law and order and security during political rallies and campaigning in the region.
