Two people were killed and 27 injured in Greater Noida on Thursday after a tractor trolley overturned.
Most of the people were going to a mosque to offer Eid prayers. The injured were admitted to local hospitals.
Superintendent of Police (Greater Noida) SK Verma, said: "Labourers working at a construction site at Birodi were going on tractor trolley to the Kasna mosque to offer Eid prayers. As the they reached near Kasna roundabout, the trolley turned turtle."
"Two persons were killed on the spot while others injured were admitted at Kailash Hospital and another hospital in the city. One of the deceased was identified as Farooq. The was later identified as Raju(44). Some of the injured included Mainuddin, Fakru, Jehangir, Anwar, Mahesh Bhagwat Swaroop and Ram Chander. Bodies of the deceased have been sent for post mortem," said Verma.
A doctor at Kailash Hospital said: "Twenty injured were brought in the morning. Two were brought dead. Most of them have suffered minor fractures. However, the condition of two people was critical. They are still at the ICU." Seven other injured were admitted at another private hospital.
