On the occasion of Lohri, the chamber of commerce & industry (CCI) organised a function at Chamber House on Tuesday to welcome and interact with SEIL (students experience in inter-state living) members drawn from seven north-eastern states.
The students are currently on an integration tour 'Bharat Ko Janno (know India) 2015' to the state.
During interaction the students shared their views and experience about their visit to the state. They pointed out that they enjoyed the tour very well and were thankful for the hospitality extended to them during their stay over here.
Sham Lal Langer senior vice president of the CCI presented the vote of thanks.
The SEIL has been organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) - a right-wing students' organization - . Its state president Varinder Kundal, secretary Rahul Sharma, ex national president Narinder Singh accompanied the north eastern students.
Shantmanu, the divisional commissioner Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and Rakesh Gupta president of CCI presided over the function.
Gupta expressed that these types of programs are a welcome step to know about the culture and hospitality of other states.
Later Lohri pooja was also held in front of the Chamber House in which all the guests and students participated.
