Unidentified armed goons on Sunday night shot at a mobile phone dealer in their bid to snatch his car at Palam Vihar, the police said. Although they failed in their attempt, the criminals managed to flee with the trader’s mobile phone and laptop.

The victim sustained a bullet injury on his leg. He is reported to be out of danger.

The police said Sachin Singh, 25, resident of Madanpuri, Gurgaon, owned a mobile phone shop at Vyapar Kendra in Palam Vihar.

At 9 pm, Singh closed his shop and was leaving for home. The moment he was about to sit in his car, an unidentified man shouted from front, while another grabbed him from behind.

Singh tried to repulse the attack.

One of the assailants took out his gun and threatened to shoot at Singh. Later, the assailant fired a shot at the trader and the bullet pierced through his leg. Singh shouted for help and local shopkeepers ran towards the car.

On seeing the crowd, robbers fled with his mobile and laptop. Singh was rushed to the Civil Hospital.

The police said robbers looked 25 years of age. A case has been registered.
