Trader shot at by bike-borne assailants

A 20-year-old trader was shot at by two unidentified assailants on a bike today afternoon at Dadri in Greater Noida.

A 20-year-old trader was shot at by two unidentified assailants on a bike on Thursday afternoon at Dadri in Greater Noida.


According to police, the incident happened in Nai Abadi area when Shahbaz, who deals in furniture business, was going to his godown in Madarse Wali Gali. As locals gathered near the spot, the attackers fled leaving behind their motorcycle.

Shahbaz, who received bullet injuries in his neck, was rushed to Navin Hospital in Greater Noida. Later doctors shifted him to Fortis hospital in Noida where his condition is said to be critical.

The Dadri police have registered an FIR and started an investigation in the case. "It looks like a case of personal rivalry. We have seized the bike and are trying to ascertain its owner. We will also record the statement of the victim when he gains conscious," said Arvind Kumar, circle officer (Dadri).
