Addressing a press conference, Mahasangh president Gulshanrai Chawala and others said the development of parking lots as per the approved map of the Town and Country Planning Department (T&CP) would sort out the parking problem in the area. According to them, seven open spaces in different parts of this locality are meant for parking.

The members also pointed out that 48 tuition and coaching classes are being run here and vehicles around such places are parked in haphazard manner. They said that only 30 per cent of total vehicles of MP Nagar belong to the traders and building owners.

They said that two level parking should be developed along Hoshangabad road to sort out the problem but added that it was a costly option. The Mahasangh also suggested that the tuition and coaching classes owners should be told to issue parking card to their students and pay the fees to the BMC accordingly.

They also demanded to re-start the construction work of parking lot in front of Patidar Studio. They also suggested converting the space between Jyoti Shopping Complex and Milan Sweets into a parking lot.

The Mahasangh said basements of the buildings should be regularised and the BMC could realise fee against it. However, the members said they would not pay other than property tax in this case. Mahasangh also said that a committee should be formed to fix such fee. They said the minister for urban administration and development Jayant Malaiya has also given consent in this regard.
