A transgender was found murdered on Wednesday at Surajpur in Greater Noida. The police recovered the victim’s body from an agricultural field.

“We got a call, saying that a body was lying in the fields of one Vijay Singh. A police team was sent to recover the body,” said Ajay Choudhary, SHO, Surajpur.

The police official said they are yet to establish the identity of the victim. "The victim has a name Kirat Pal inscribed on her hand. We suspect that this might be her name. She was wearing a salwar-kameez. The villagers could not provide much details," said Choudhary.

"The victim's throat was slit and blood stains found near the site. Body has been sent for post-mortem," said Choudhary.

"Whether she was killed because of some personal rivalry or other cause was being probed. Some eunuchs too were called to identify the body. Robbery motive too was being investigated," said Choudhary.

The police suspect group rivalry as the motive behind the killing. "Many eunuchs were killed in turf wars in the recent years,” he said. Last year, another eunuch Rekha was shot dead. Two eunuchs belonging to Dadri were later arrested.
